The COLLECTIVE is out and about again this weekend, embarking on short road trips and wandering around our beautiful city. Come say hi!

ANNIE WIESENBERG

What: Women's Ecstatic Dance | SLC Krishna Temple, 965 E 3370 S

Why: Dr. Shannon Simonelli is a PhD of Imaginal Psychology and Creative Arts Therapy who is debuting her DJ skills for the ladies this Friday, Jan 27th! She will be giving us some gentle guidance to help us really get into our bodies. This is a beautiful, safe, and holding space for expressive movement!

Insight: Cost is $20 at the door. You're welcome to bring an item to place on the altar. The event is open to anyone who identifies as a woman and starts at 6:30pm.

PETER STEVENSON

What: Bear Lake | Garden City, Ut

Why: Every winter the peace and calm of Bear Lake settles in and becomes my favorite place on the earth. The visitors are mostly gone and the quiet is beautiful. We bought a place there two years ago, thanks Alexander + Samuel! We mostly rent it out as a short-term rental in the summer, but in the winter it's our get away from the busyness of the city. There are a plethora of inexpensive rentals available every weekend; I promise you will not regret it.

CHC Tip: There is a great ski resort, Beaver Mountain, 15 minutes from town and just over the Idaho border is one of my favorite dive bars, Cooper's Restaurant & Sports Bar. In the summer you need to make a reservation, but in the winter just show up and join the locals.

JEREMY CHATELAIN

What: Record shopping at Randy's Records | 157 E 900 W

Why: Finding some great vintage or new records for myself and taking my son to peruse the "punk" section.

CHC Tip: Check out the "newest to be filed" section for the latest records they've acquired, you can normally find some gems and they are in no particular order so surprises are guaranteed. Ask Sam questions about music as he's like a living encyclopedia of records, plus his outfits are often off the charts (pun intended) and his father is Randy! Check out the rare and pricey records on the wall behind the counter to see what's hot!
