COVID’s influence on our city has been evident in myriad ways (and, to be honest, our COLLECTIVE hearts have been more than a little warmed by the outpouring of community support for our fellow Salt Lakers who’ve been hit hard by this pandemic). In the last year there’s been a major influx of folks getting creative in efforts to keep our food scene alive and thriving. We’ve seen a major push for people to shop local and order takeout from their favorite eateries, and there’s also been a delightful cropping-up of local quaran-preneurs who’re finally living out their baking/BBQing/chef-ing dreams from home. One such solution for at-home dining comes to us from a few of our favorite local restaurateurs: Hive Eats is the brainchild of Publik’s Missy Greis, Cucina Wine Bar’s Dean Pierose, Pago Restaurant Group’s Scott Evans, and James Roberts, and seeks to bring the experience of a few of Salt Lake’s beloved dine-in spots straight to your door (and, subsequently, your belly).
With a selection of meals available from a slew of our favorite eateries (Copper Onion, Arlo, Trio, and Mazza among them)—as well as Hive Pantry picks from Publik and normal ice cream—it's difficult to go wrong while perusing the options. Orders must be placed Sundays for Thursday delivery, and the offerings include such scrumptious dishes as Publik mac & cheese with pulled pork, Avenues Proper's lamb shepherd's pie, chicken pozole from Copper Onion, and Mazza's Maghmoor.
We commend our neighbors' resourcefulness when it comes to rolling with those pandemic punches (and when it comes to getting our favorite dine-in dishes in our dining rooms, we're fully on board).
