Jill Whit | Windows

2/17/2022 | Samuel Johnson
Lauren Kerr | Kerri Fukui

A local gem on the rise! Jill Whit, a savvy artist since day one, is taking the SLC art world by storm. Growing up in our neighboring city Logan, she studied printmaking at USU. She’s always had a passion for art and it emanates in her work.

Branching outside of her norm, Jill put herself, entirely, into her debut exhibit of ‘Windows’, held here at cityhomeUNDERGROUND.

“This body of work is different from anything I’ve ever done. I worked with mediums I’ve never used, larger scale sizes than I have before, and exploration with color (as someone who tends to draw towards a B&W color scheme). The idea was to spend more time alone, separate myself from social media, try something that felt vulnerable. The theme ‘Windows’ is about looking out from the inside; a journey by yourself. It’s about open opportunity and self-realization.”

Recently, she started working in ceramics and created cohesive vessels that mirrored her paintings. With her additions of bright and vibrant colors, her signature female body, and variety of textures, her art brings you to a deep feeling of excitement, introspection, and longing.

Jill brings a certain edge to the art world, which her followers love! She has made quite a name for herself in the underground SLC world, while simultaneously building a successful tattooing business. She’s always had a drive and dedication to take on the fine arts world, her true passion, and we eagerly anticipate her success!

Art show presented by cityhomeUNDERGROUND through March 31st 2022 | Call or Email for an appointment 801.718.5555

We recently passed the keys to a home tucked just beside one of Salt Lake’s most intriguing landmarks — a red-brick beauty resting quietly along the edge of Gilgal Gardens. It was the kind of property that stops you in your tracks — full of soul, a little mysterious, and surrounded by the sort of...
