Remember that insane craving for cookie dough you had when you were a kid? A responsible adult at the counter, cracking eggs and mixing flour while you waited for the green light to destroy that dough-covered whisk. There was a little risk involved, sure. "You might get sick," they'd warn. Psh. Whatever. Always worth it.

But things are different now. We're adults(ish). We've gotta weigh those risks, or just cross our fingers and hold our breath till the time comes that someone removes them altogether. Well, exhale, friends. That time has come. The age of the dough eater is here.

Allow us to introduce you to Sugar House’s newest sugar house: Dough Co.

This spot is breaking all the rules in all the best ways, and offering up the best part of baking without the risk of getting sick. See, Dough Co. slings ready-to-eat, preservative-free, new-craving-inducing, raw cookie dough (that you're totally allowed to eat).

Dough Co. is the creation of our COLLECTIVE’s very own Sarah McNamara and her hubby Mike. Their mission? To bring all that we crave from the baking experience--sans the risk of certain uncooked ingredients. Think omitting the culprits means a sacrifice in taste? Delish dough options like Oreo Thin Mint, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Maple Bacon Snickerdoodle, Cake Batter, and the obligatory (and sensational) Chocolate Chip beg to differ.

Within these walls you’ll also find gluten free, vegan, and dog-friendly dishes, so anybody hankering for a bit of sweet will find something they love. Most everything at Dough Co. is made in-house, and it’s offered up in an array of ways—by the scoop, in a shake, or Milk & Cookies style (served alongside a dollop of vanilla ice cream).

this is the ratio of chocolate chip cookie dough TO ice cream WE DESERVE.

Best of all, when refrigerated, Dough Co. dough stores safely for 30 days (and up to 90 when frozen). Bake a batch for your pals, or—who are we kidding—eat it straight out the tub. We're not here to judge. Rules are: there are no rules.

Looking to take a test drive? Try some for yourself at our 5th Annual Brew + ‘Q, kicking off next Friday, September 22nd. It’s our little way of giving back just an ounce of the love we feel for this community, and--as always--it’s free to you (yes, YOU). Along with a few other fabulous local businesses, Dough Co. will be present, accounted for, and slingin' scoop after scoop of doughy deliciousness.
