The day of days is upon us, folks. Yes, it's officially Pride Weekend 2017, and--as most of you lovely readers know by now--this is one of our little COLLECTIVE's favorite times of year. FULL. STOP. Of course, we happily celebrate any event that supports people being (and loving) whomever they damn well please, so the fact that we are eager to bust out the hot pants and banners year after year should go without question.
For those new to our salty scene, Pride Week in SLC is something of a local holiday.
It's several days of celebration, culminating in Sunday morning at the Pride Parade (which spans several city blocks and sees an ever-growing crowd of thousands of local spectators). For many years, we've happily marched in the parade, and waved our banner high in the name of equal rights and the LGBTQ+ fight. However, this year we're doing things a little differently...
This year, we're forgoing being part of the parade in order to be part of the community that stands proudly by the sidelines--hugging and cheering and shouting out our support for the cause. We urge you to find us (most of us will likely be decked in the black shirts and tanks of years past). Give us a hug or a handshake. Take a button (we'll have plenty).
This year we happily join the happy masses celebrating you being your truest you.
