Camlyn is drawn to intentional experiences and to exploring what it means to love where you live. Their relationship to Utah has transformed as they deepen their connection to the land and their community. With the heart of an educator, Camlyn comes to us with a drive to serve. The passion behind their work is to remind us how powerful we are, especially when Life is ready to create with us. Camlyn is known for blending organizing strength with a calm nature, and when it comes to helping you find home, their energy, creative solutions, and community-based mindset will get you where you want to be. They love to start with the question, “Can you describe the feeling and the life you would enjoy living?”
You’re an agent here. Tell us why. What led you to this work? I’ve realized that I spend the majority of my time at home, at work, in relationships, and all my time is simultaneously spent in my body. So I prioritize: What is good for my body? How does the energy in my home feel? Does work nourish me or drain me? Am I present for my loved ones?
I believe our homes are micro-experiments of the societies we live in. “Home” is an incredible opportunity for us to design the havens that we strive for on a broader scale. When I think about how I’d like to contribute to my community, I would love to help my neighbors settle into a secure home and an overall energy of creativity, freedom, and rest. I resonated with cityhomeCOLLECTIVE and their philosophy around loving where you live, understanding your why, and the confident belief that the home (and life) specifically meant for you is attainable.
You could be living anywhere, really. Why SLC? Ah, this is significant because I have lived outside of SLC for about half my life, yet some of my most significant growth has happened here. I’m rooted here because I’m finding a unique community that continues to care for and surprise me. If I were hosting a visitor, I would enjoy showing off; starting with this lively nook here at cityhomeCOLLECTIVE and then branching out to our canyons and hot springs, our farmers and their food, the art and film scene, creative workshops, our badass entrepreneurs and community organizers, my favorite places to eat, and our ancient lakes.
What is your definition of home? Where your insides relax. Where love is. Where you unwind and come home to yourself, really. Yes it’s a space, but I also think it’s a practice, a returning, and often a relationship.
Describe your perfect day. What, exactly, does that look like for you? Waking up naturally after a good rest and meditating. Having three hearty meals, including at least one home-made community/family meal. Time to read, time to write, time to connect with loved ones. Physical movement! Time outside. And some random surprise turn of events, because I like an involved and playful Universe.
How do you take care of your home and how do you take care of the house that is you? I have some weekly focused time where I clean the place. I tend to my plants. I like to go through each room and make sure it feels open. I love good smells for the nose. I love having tea, food, and blankets ready. And when I come and go, I might occasionally say to the walls, “Thank you, house! I love you!”
The only way our homes will ever really remain meaningful to us over time, is if they satisfy in us a deeper sense of what it means to be securely housed in our bodies, hearts, and minds.
This is why we have been doing our best to point ourselves, our clients and our communities back to the Self. Whether it is embodied movement classes, community meditation groups, house therapy sessions, or first time home buyer classes, we have tended to a holistic approach to real estate, design and good neighbor-ing for almost twenty years. To keep it communal, most of what we offer is spread word of mouth. We have a print menu in our COLLECTIVE homebase that folks can pick up anytime with a current schedule as well as an ever evolving list of services. Stop by and grab one, have a cup of tea or coffee and say hello. Free hugs for the touchers. Warm smiles for everyone. Or check the newsletter at the beginning of each month for a snapshot of what is hot off the press. Spoiler alert. It’s us. And we are at your service. Happy March friends. What a beautiful month to be alive in this city, we call ‘home’.

In the real estate industry, the spring season starts long before the weather starts to warm. Once the new year begins, we dive head first into the upcoming selling season doing market research, prepping homes for sale, and helping buyers get approved and ready to purchase in the months ahead. This year is no different – so as we’re planning for 2025, we thought we’d clue you in on what we think is coming.
When it comes to the market – we’re here to tell you not to expect any drastic changes.
Price growth is expected to slow down with more moderate levels of appreciation (about 3% in Utah, 2.6% nationally) – a positive note for buyers who have been chasing soaring prices. We anticipate interest rates to stay mostly where they are with a hopeful, yet gradual, decline over the course of the year. Dejan Eskic, the Chief Economist for the SLC Board of Realtors, tells us that the average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage is projected to hover around 6.3%, and the median Utah sales price to go from $505,000 to $520,000.
Statistics aside, here’s what we’ve been hearing in the field: so many of our clients spent much of last year… “waiting.” Waiting for rates to go down, for prices to drop, for the election to pass…yet still kept their eye on the market with the plan to buy or sell a home in the near future. Now as rates stabilize and inventory starts to gradually increase, we’re beginning to feel like that holding period is over. We anticipate this pent-up demand to show up as an active spring market and an overall increase in home sales this year.
This isn’t to say we don’t face the same challenges:
plenty of homeowners are still holding tight to their low mortgage rates and are reluctant to sell. If that’s you – consider yourself lucky, but don’t let it trap you. If it’s time to move on, call on your team (that’s us) and let’s take a look at your equity (chances are you’ve got some). We might be able to make the transition easier than you think, or at least talk about your options.
The long and short of it: trying to time the market for the perfect price and the best rate is a challenging strategy at best…and at least this year, doesn’t seem like a very fruitful effort. The market is what it is (literally) and we’re way more interested in what’s going on in your life, anyway. We don’t have a crystal ball, but we do know real estate: stay connected with your agent (oh hey – do you need one?) and we’ll make sure you’re taken care of.
If you haven’t noticed, test-driving listings is kind of our thing here at cityhomeCOLLECTIVE. It’s quite a lovely perk of the job! We get to scoop a few friends, some snacks and then get curious about all the reasons to love a home, which we believe will spark exploration and invite in the home’s new occupants- so that’s what life in this space could be. For our Row 17 adventure, we decided to take a stroll down the quaint residential Richards Street, take a right on Wood Avenue, and ended up at Honeysuckle Coffee Co., where we were greeted by a cozy atmosphere, delicious pastries, and hot coffee.
We took our treats back to this cozy abode for a few rounds of our favorite games. Here’s our take: small spaces can hold big fun. Neighborhood walkability is a lifestyle upgrade. South-facing patios give us life. We love filling our spaces with love and friends! We can’t wait to hand over the keys of this sweet treasure to someone new.
Come see what it’s all about.

Michael is a firm believer that home is not just four walls and a roof but should also be a space that sparks joy for those who dwell inside. Matching humans to houses that fosters such intentional living is a calling Michael feels passionately about. A native of Alaska, Michael came to Utah seven years ago and, smitten by Salt Lake’s charming neighborhoods and the camaraderie of its gay community, has called it home ever since. He stays active playing volleyball and pickleball, loves building furniture and throws caution to the wind when it comes to tackling any DIY project. Understanding a well-informed client is a satisfied client, Michael considers education to be an invaluable part of his real estate practice and this, coupled with his ability to offer clear insight during the homebuying process, all but guarantees you’ll find him to be an invaluable resource and ally as you search for your own spark of joy.
You’re an agent here. Tell us why. What led you to this work? I have a deep appreciation for home ownership. One of the most fulfilling things in my own life was purchasing a house and turning it into a home with my husband. Owning the right home is THE dream for so many and who could ask for a better career than making dreams come true.
What is your definition of home? For me, home is the place I feel most safe and comfortable. It’s where I have the most control of my environment and I can fashion that living experience to be whatever I want it to be, whether I want it to foster productivity and creativity or relaxation or intimate socialization. It’s the place where I can recharge and reset and become ready to take on the rest of the world that happens outside of these four walls.
Describe your perfect day. What, exactly, does that look like for you? My perfect day is going to start with a family adventure like the farmer’s market or walking the trail at Memory Grove with my husband and dog. It would probably include a few productive hours building or creating something on my own and end with a game night with good friends.
What would you really hope to hear clients say when they talk about you when you’re not there? I hope they feel that I made the process easier than they expected. Buying or selling a home is a substantial life event and I want them to feel like they were fully prepared for every step of the process and that I facilitated a clear headspace that gave them confidence in their decisions.
How do you take care of your home and how do you take care of the house that is you? I like to fill my home with small easy “upgrades.” Things like specialized brass light switches, long wooden matchsticks and handmade ceramic coffee mugs. It makes every day, mundane tasks like turning on the lights or lighting a candle feel a little bit more special. These little things remind me that I have chosen to always appreciate the beauty and joy in life. So really, the way that I take care of the home that I live in, is also self-care for the house that is me.

Boone lands within our fold equipped with a unique perspective on life. As a young man, his parents (both artists) instilled in him a keen eye for the composition of space and an appreciation for the relationship between form and function. This perception for good design led him into careers both as an accomplished product designer and acclaimed photographer. (Thanks, mom and dad). His lifelong passion for adventure + travel has made him a central figure in the global development of climbing, and it’s the pairing of these two skills– the eye for good architecture and an eclectic knowledge of how different cultures define home– that makes him eminently qualified for the task at hand, that is in helping you find a place perfectly suited for you.
You’re an agent here at cityhome. Tell us why. What led you to this work? cityhome’s the place for me, I’ve always admired the vibe and aesthetic here. When my wife and I relocated back to SLC, after living in Portland, Oregon for a number of years, we used cityhome to purchase our place. That was in 2018. That entire process over-delivered, it was well informed and genuine, the best experience I’ve had purchasing real estate, ever. Career-wise, I’ve been able to blend my creative interests with my active lifestyle. I’ve been a professional photographer for over 20 years, but nowadays I’m only shooting select assignments and personal work. A large portion of my photography has centered around climbing and travel. I’ve also spent time shooting architecture and interiors, focussing on modern, and mid-century work that I find inspirational. I have a deep appreciation for well designed spaces, and interacting with them has a calming, quieting effect on me. I enjoy helping people find that needle in a haystack that they’re looking for in a home, whatever that means for them.
Do you remember when home first started mattering to you? Forever. I was six years old when my parents designed and built the home I grew up in. I remember them not following or doing what other neighbors were doing, and their rationale was explained to me in a way I could understand back then. So from that young age I became aware of space and its effect on us as we interact with it. Home is that place where we recharge, but it’s more than that too. It’s not just a location, it’s a state of mind, a distinction that became really important to me while traveling constantly as a climber and photographer.
Describe your perfect home or space. What does it look/feel like? Home is open, inviting, and not cluttered. Quality over quantity. Location matters. I prefer natural light and indoor-outdoor flow. In the end though, it just has to feel right to me. I appreciate the discovery process –like an easter egg hunt. It’s why I don’t mind walking through a bunch of different places in order to find the right one.
You could be living anywhere, really. Why SLC? That’s easy. It’s the best geographic location if you want easy access to climbing, skiing, mountains, desert, cold, hot, an international airport… the list goes on. There’s no other place in the U.S. that checks all those boxes. Simply put, I’d rather live here and travel for other interests than live someplace else, wishing I were here. I’ve tried that and I always come back.
Describe your perfect day. What, exactly, does that look like for you? I wake up naturally, pretty early, pour a coffee, and do an hour or so of yoga. That’s my baseline for a good day. A few days a week I prioritize some time to climb or ski or skate. It’s vitally important for me to be outside moving, and I prefer unencumbered activities that are physically and mentally challenging. I’ve also come to realize I need some creative activity, could be writing something, finding some inspiration someplace, making a photograph or solving a puzzle of some sort. I know that sounds vague but it’s always a moving target based on how I’m feeling. Oftentimes I’m able to apply my creativity to how I generate income, like with photography. As a real estate agent it’s an opportunity for me to solve a puzzle. I ask, “what’s the order of priorities and how can I match those with available means?”. It’s a simple equation but not necessarily easy to solve when the stakes are so high. I do enjoy the process though. All this being said, there’s still plenty of time left in the day to be present with family and friends and to chill.
