COLLECTIVELY, we're probably pretty similar to the rest of you lovers of Utah. Come this time of year, we start to get giddy with anticipation for that foliage change that rocks Warhol-esque levels of pop, some solid beer and brat-branded get-togethers, and the perfect weather for settling into some of our city's warm and welcoming coffee nooks (try here or here). And thanks to our dear friends at Salt Lake Film Society, this city has yet another reason to get undeniably hyped for that crisp, fall air. October--widely accepted as the spookiest of all the months--is the perfect time for SLFS to unveil their list of goosebumps-inducing cult classics, in what has been appropriately-dubbed the Tower of Terror 2016. All critically-acclaimed and properly vetted by Rotten Tomatoes, these films will be running at both the Tower Theatre and the Broadway Centre Theatre all month long. Polish director Marcin Wrona's highly-lauded Demon will be kicking off the fest, followed by horror canon heavy-hitters like The Witch and The Monster Squad, plus a whole slew of others, all delightfully dark. And we'd be remiss if we didn't inform you that the Tower will be hosting screenings of perhaps the cultiest film of them all, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, from October 21st-31st. Head over to the SLFS website for the full frightening schedule, or to purchase tickets. Costume 'n' candy corn aficionados and low-key fall-weather fans will find something to scream about, here. The venues are killer (and the movies even more so), so we suggest you snag your tickets now for one bloody-brilliant event.
