This city just keeps getting better, greener…more fruity [gay pun and literal definition both intended]. All wonderful things, say we. Thanks to the team efforts of TreeUtah, Avenues Fruitshare, Green Urban Lunchbox, and Salt Lake Community Action Program, our city's about to get all sustainable up in here with the SLCgreen Fruit Share program. We're actually bursting with bushels of apricots, apples, peaches and plums in our little desert oasis, but much of the valuable bounty goes to waste -- it's tough to keep up with the harvesting of countless trees, what with all the good shit there is to do in this city [ain't nobody got time for that!]. Lucky for all you wasters of good fruit and nut, there's an online database that will enable you to register your trees. From there, a team of goodly folks will do the harvest for you. While we don't strongly endorse laziness, we're in full favor of relaxing moments, and you can watch from the couch, then casually enjoy the fruits of their labor [nailed it]. Best part: you get to share. The bounty will be distributed between homeowners, volunteers, and local food assistance programs. How peachy is that? Learn more about this awesome program here, and if you've got the plums, sign yourself right up.
