Salon O has been a growing force in the style community since 2005, and lucky for me, I had the COLLECTIVE pleasure of working with owner and founder, Falecia Wilson, in the recent re-design of their space in the Central City neighborhood on 4th South. To celebrate the new, they threw a 'Grand Re-Opening' party, and in doing so, made it clear that they know how. Tasty food and bevvies, and the unparalleled voice of local singer/actor, Dee-Dee Darby-Duffin, were just a few bits of the lovely evening.
The challenge for this project lay in designing a space worthy of Falecia and the work that she does. She's mentored a number of stylists and influenced countless clients across the valley. Falecia is a self-proclaimed geek; she says that she's often inspired by math and geometry when creating a client's look. "Hair cuts are all about shape and dimension", according to her. She LOVES color and boldness is always the order of the day, so it's no surprise that she's attracted such cutting-edge [terrible pun intended] stylists at Salon O. It's a dynamic [and attractive] crew. For my part, it's been fun to see the sense of camaraderie in there over the last few months. Their mission statement: "To achieve a high level of well-being for our guests through the integrity of our art." I'm thrilled I got to create a hip space in which they can do it. More pics of the space to come as we wrap-up the design, so stay tuned...
