Our Opinion: We love this little place nearly as much as the we adore the owners who have made it their very own. Character in spades, this one, and we'll start with the building itself. The "Premier" complex, built in 1931, is aptly named…that stately, towering tudor exterior is, in a word, breathtaking. Perched on the perimeter of downtown SLC (technically, Central City), it's an ideal location…biking in the springtime never sounded so lovely. Many of the original features of the complex--wood floors, crown molding, and leaded glass among them--were preserved when the building was converted from apartments to condominiums, resulting in a historic charm that's hard to come by these days. This particular one-bedroom unit has been opened up with a custom-cut kitchen window, concrete countertops, new cabinetry, shiny concrete floors, and gorgeous blue subway tile. A wall was also taken down to create a more open living/dining space, and having enjoyed ourselves in this place a time or two, we can attest to its effectiveness (it's a fantastic and intimate entertaining space, that is). And, since outdoor space is likely high on everyone's springtime list, you'll love the little patio--perfectly sized for a mini cocktail party and just enough room for your herb garden. Better move quickly on this one…we assure you, everyone else will, too.
