Locals + Culture

When friends of ours, Don and Nancy, discovered this mid-century, gem-in-the-rough a few years back, they immediately saw its potential. At the top of the Avenues and away from street level, the home sits like an oasis. They bought the home and right away went about renovating it. And we’re talking a complete redo.

All the way down to the studs and a layout redesign to boot

The kitchen was moved to capitalize on those city views. Additional square footage was added for a proper dining room. What worked remained: the living room; that grand fireplace, among others. When all was said and done, they decided to throw a little soiree to celebrate. We came over quick as a wink with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in tow.

And celebrate we did (T'WAS no small task getting us out of there, you know).

 There’s something sublime...

about a home that can connect one human to another as deftly as it can the indoors to the out.
