As our good pal Steele Jensen is a part of Furst Construction, we were already quite partial to the co. But upon hearing about their Grand Opening Charity Event [featuring food from Red Iguana, Saturday’s Waffle and a slambang opportunity to support the kiddies of this city] we’re a little smitten. Furst has taken the grand opening of their new space and turned it into a shindig/benefit for their neighborhood Boys & Girls Club, and we think the idea is an absolutely fantastic one. Interested in getting down on some grub and giving back to one of SLC’s worthiest gigs? Simply grab a backpack [bookbag, knapsack, whathaveyou] fill it with some of the loot listed below, and bring it down to Furst’s new digs [which are quite impressive in their own right, as you can also see below]. The goods they’re looking for are relatively lowkey: new, kid-sized winterwear, new sports equipment, unused art supplies, etc.], but best believe they’ll go a long way. Not the knapsack-filling-type? There are a few gift card options that will also be accepted in exchange. You just need to do something dang good for some dang good kids, then grab a few treats and check out Furst’s tasty new headquarters. Details for the opening are below, and the ways in which you can [and should] help the Boys & Girls Club are all mapped out for you. Be sure to give Steele a hug for us.
