"The details are details. They make the product. The connections, the connections, the connections. It will, in the end, be these details that give the product its life." - Charles Eames --
Precisely. Details set the stage for a home. Paint, cabinetry, flooring, hardware, lighting, etc. -- they're the meat and potatoes of your space. They create the canvas on which you layer the furniture and the accents. It goes without saying, then, that selecting these finishes requires that you consider the big picture. Aesthetically, what are you trying to accomplish in your space? What will you do there? How do you want it to feel? What makes you excited or inspires you? The answers to these questions should be considered for both the interior and exterior of your home. When the inside of your space flows seamlessly from the outside, the home feels cohesive and by-design.
Cody and I spent a couple afternoons selecting finishes for Henry Walker's Columbus Court model and spec home at the Aspire Design Center. We asked ourselves the questions, and we laid the foundation for a beautiful, modern space. Carrera marble; warm, wood floors; rich, grey paint; sophisticated tile -- there's some luxury up in here. Sneak peak below of a few of our choices. We're about to start a full-force launch into this design project, and we're psyched. Let us know what you think, and keep your eye out for more updates on furniture, accessories, and the finished product.
