Like so many in our COLLECTIVE crew, Christin Parks is a delightful blend of unexpected contradictions. A relatively new addition to our team of realtors, she’s made of the kind of stuff that makes us proud to call her one of our own, so I thought it high time I introduce her the proper way: with a COLLECTIVE clergy of her own.

Upon first getting word that we'd be adding a former member of the SLCPD to our team, there was--admittedly--some mild trepidation (we're not delinquents, but juvenile anxieties die hard, man). Once we got to know Christin, however, there was an audible, collective sigh of relief...she's the best kind of teddy bear, really. As you’d probably guess by that Colgate-commercial smile, she’s as congenial as they come, and she’s got no qualms about opening up and making pals with anyone who's open to a cold beer and a good chat (I'm raising my hand). She's got a lovely (and equally friendly) girlfriend, Jordan, and I know that the two have a serious affinity for cycling. In fact, Christin spent her years on the force patrolling our salty streets by bike, and she races in the name of charitable causes whenever her busy schedule affords it. I also know that she enjoys a warm beach and a cold drink, to which I say amen, sister. From what I can gather, Christin's also extremely athletic and competitive...which presumably means the two of us will square off in a mean game of cornhole at the next company picnic (I'll keep you all posted on the results). Until then, keep reading and get to know the goodly Officer/Agent Parks...

Describe your perfect home or space. What does it look/feel like? Light, airy, open, coastal.

One thing you absolutely cannot stand: Mean people.

One thing you absolutely, unequivocally LOVE: Gathering with friends and laughing over a good meal.

You're a real estate agent here. Tell me why. What lead you to this work? People. I love the interaction with people and the excitement of watching them search for homes or sell to start a new chapter in their life.

Give me your take on our little COLLECTIVE. It's perfection, down to every unique person and their professionalism, charisma, and the desire to be the best in the game. It truly is the varsity team.

Describe your perfect day. What, exactly, does that look like for you? Lying on the beach with a cocktail in hand and listening to the waves come in with my family.

Favorite read/watch: I love Steel Magnolias. It is the one movie that has all my favorites: laughter, crying, a Christmas scene, and a friendship bond unshakeable through good times and bad.

I'm legitimately and actually afraid of the dark. Like, I will RUN up a set of dark stairs, as I'm convinced that someone is behind me. Also, on my first day of college, I walked through the crowded part of campus without knowing that my backpack had slowly pulled my skirt up over my ass. It shaped me as a person, I think, in that it ruined my life. Tell me something embarrassing or ridiculous about you. I was responding to a call and it had snowed a ton. I drove up the driveway, and when my partner walked up, he asked how I had missed all the tire spikes. I walked back to my car and two tires were completely flat. His response was, "Well, at least it's not all four!"

You could be living anywhere, really. Why SLC? I was not sure this was the place for me 24 years ago when I moved here, but I started a career that I love and met some really great people. Then I started exploring and found that I can do so many things here within minutes, like hiking, biking, and boating. It truly has it all (I would say skiing, but I suck at it, and my friends would know that wasn't the truth on why I love it here...but I do hear that it's the best snow on Earth).

How do you think we can improve this fantastic little slice of our nation? Where are we lacking? I would love to see more local breweries and quaint eateries, sports bars, places that people can go talk and laugh about their day and unwind.
