'Tis the season of all them holidays, folks: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Ramadan, Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Yule, Omisoka. Whatever your pleasure, chances are there's ample opportunity for you to pause, give thanks, and celebrate all the good you've got going on. And right on schedule, it's time for the 7th Annual Christmas Art Adoption. As most of you know, twice a year, Art Adoption (one of our most deserving local get-togethers started up by one of our most deserving locals, Josh Scheuerman) fosters a spot not only for a few sensational local talents to sell their art on the cheap, but it also offers a place for folks to bring their clothing and food donations for Salt Lakers in need. On the real, this is the spot to get some serious, preliminary shopping done. Though it's set to be as awesome an event as ever, this year's fete will feature a little bonus: Art Adoption is hosting the Humane Society of Utah for a portion of the evening, so you can browse and bring home a cuddly somethin-or-other for the holidays (gift for the nephews = covered). This local lovin' event is going down Saturday, December 12th, at Signed & Numbered from 10am - 11pm. Need another nudge? There's free coffee in the a.m. hours, brews from Uintah in the evening, and tunes starting at 6pm (and all donations to the bar will go to another worthy cause, Teal for Teal). Clothing and food donations are greatly appreciated, and will go to Volunteers of America and The Road Home. It's chockablock full of goodness, this one, and we can't think of a more joyful way to spend your Saturday. Spread the love. Shop local. Give back. Bases covered.
