Joe & Emily | Modern + Christmas

Occasionally, we enter a space and find that we don’t really want to leave. We love that feeling. Such was the case in our clients’, Joe [owner of Nobrow] and Emily’s, home. Perfectly curated for the season [please note the Charlie Brown Christmas tree in Oliver’s room], they’ve just wrapped up renovations started at the tail-end of summer when they purchased the home.

The space feels good, and Joe and Emily’s great eyes for design are as Ann as the nose on Plain’s face. It’s all been executed precisely to their desire [something we always love to see]. This was a great space to start with, but the kitchen needed help and became the primary focus in the renovation efforts. We adore the result. Solid-surface, slick counter tops, gleaming, custom-fit appliances, gorgeous, stream-lined cabinets, and painted brick were the well-thought work of Joe and Emily, Tamra Mateus [design consultant], Mark Haslam [lead contractor, Sausage], and Jaren of Modern Union. The space is rounded out by details like the custom onion box and incredible dining table [the custom work of E3 Fabrication]. It was a worthy undertaking, and we tip our COLLECTIVE hat to a pair of clients that found their space and put in the effort to make it their own. This is how everyone should love where they live.

**Keep a watch — In January, the COLLECTIVE will blog about the opening date for Joe’s new location [9th East, 2nd South] for a stellar cup of coffee.

There are certain staples of spring whose absence would throw all of those warm weather vibes straight out the window: sunshiney patios, the budding of the trees on South Temple, and one of our favorite fair-weather events, Mr. Jesse Walker’s Bunny Hop. That’s right. Now in its seventh year, this COLLECTIVELY adored event is gearing […]
