More and more frequently, we’re finding good design in places we might not normally expect it. Take the south valley for example: amidst the landscape of sand-colored stucco and veneer brick walls, structures like 2846 Cobblemoor exist. Built in ‘82 by renowned designer Rod Irwin, this casa at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon blends the indoor space with the outdoor environment perfectly. Our friends, Ginger and Ian, have gone and purchased themselves an Airstream (hear, hear!) and they’re eager to begin their next adventure. Naturally, they came a-knockin’ on our COLLECTIVE door for help in selling their beloved home. And, naturally, we packed some brie, olives, and wine and headed south. So did the weather–and after the wind blew our perfectly-coiffed hair all to hell, we took our soiree inside. This home is stacked! Never mind the solar panel system on the roof supplying most of the home’s juice, or the heated driveway from Glycol, or the newly-installed Noritz Tankless water heater…it’s got built in bookshelves for a mini library with a genuine orchard ladder! Between the gorgeous fireplace and spacious/well-designed kitchen, we weren’t wanting for the outdoors one bit.
