Our Opinion: Oh, myyy. You know we go bananas for bones like this, people. Floor-to-ceiling windows like that, alone, are enough to make us start looking under couch cushions for spare change. Word on the street is that this 1954 Atomic Ranch was the very last casa built in this particular Millcreek ‘hood, and you can count us grateful for that. It’s only had a few owners since its debut, and they’ve all put preservation into practice: clean lines, sunken living room, original fireplace (with a brick paint job meant to restore that 50′s charm) and built-ins, and a preserved cedar ceiling round out the list of “thank god that’s still here.” The aforementioned floor-to-ceiling windows offer gaping views to your own back yard, as well as loads of natural light. Other noteworthy features include the hardwood floors, blue tile in the bathroom, original planter box between dining and living spaces, and an updated kitchen (that big ol’ window won’t hurt while you’re cookin’). Neighborhood? Walkable. Mountains? Accessible. Three fireplaces total come with this home, but we’ve saved the best surprise for last: one of them is in the back yard. Yup. Wander out and cozy up. No matter how you look at it, you’d be hard pressed to find charm like this in any other home.
