When it comes to the unmatched amounts of thought and care that were put into this mid-century modern remodel in the Cove, we’re reminded of a certain Charles Eames adage:

“The details are not the details.
They make the design.”

From the floating walls to the open staircase to the cedar-clad garage, every detail has been carefully considered…and the result is a jaw-dropping interpretation of what modern living is like. All the ingredients were already there: a ‘50s-era ranch-style home, a great location, and unparalleled views (that killer pool didn’t hurt, either).

The scope of the renovation took the home clear down to the studs. Walls were moved (and sometimes removed), a carport was torn down, and that beautiful garage was built up. When we were invited over to see the transformation, we hadn’t quite anticipated how magical the views would be at night. Or the way the pool radiates like a chunk of turquoise. Or the way the whole place just flows so damn well.

this diamond's no longer in the rough, and it’s high time someone snapped it up and started on the good life...
