With those views and that impeccable renovation, it’s no surprise that it took all of seven days for this mid-century masterpiece to get scooped up. When a few client pals of ours purchased this captivating Capitol Hill spot just a few years back, it was in sore need of some lovin’. The bones were beautiful, yes, but almost every other detail was either simply outdated or conflicted with the overall tone of the home’s design. The owners were no strangers to dust and demo, so they took the home down to the studs in short order. But make no mistake: this home is no quick flip. Every finish and facet was selected with the utmost attention in order to enhance the way this family lives, but when the course of life changed for these folks, they knew it was time for this polished jewel to change hands.
It just so happens that smart design and quality craftsmanship have an audience (wink, wink).
When we brought the property to market, even we were astonished by the public response. From interested buyers reaching out from all over the country to open houses that yielded attendance close to 100, it was a bit overwhelming…but oh-so-beautiful. And just like that, 698 Eastcapitol was officially “sold”. To celebrate the completion of this great project, and to wish them well on their next, we stopped over for drinks, bites, hugs, and a good, ol’ fashioned bon voyage.
See, homes like this one--clean, modern, and crafted with love--come along all-too-infrequently, but when they do? We bring 'em to you.
