Meet Redge Johnson, the ‘daddy’ behind Sugar Daddy Sweet Shoppe. Sweets must have been in the DNA code, because this guy started baking and making up his own recipes at the age of 10. Somewhere in the middle, Redge put in time working for the Nature Conservancy of Utah and helping to protect our lands and ranches…but he was baking all the while. A few years ago, he decided to take the proverbial leap and pursue his true passion; he now owns and operates a ‘gourmet fusion’ bakery downtown with his wife, Rachelle, and two daughters, Olivia and Zoe. Redge’s original chocolate chip cookie recipe is now 35 years old, and still pulling in rounds of taste-bud applause. As an added bonus, you can buy Redge’s cookies pre-baked…then take them home, cook ’em up and fool your family [suckas!]. Oh, and if you’ve got any sense, you’ll also try their mini pies. Crusts from scratch, y’all. Not a joke.
