Our Opinion: Let this one serve to remind you that we don’t just sell high-end homes…we sell homes at all price points. And while this one may not be for everyone, there’s certainly someone out there who will be thrilled to find it. Remember “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” when Charlie Brown decides to take a stand against depressing holiday commercialization by picking out that forlorn little tree, only to be roundly ridiculed by the rest of the Peanuts gang? Well, if you thought Lucy and Snoopy kinda had a point, then this house probably isn’t for you. But if you identified with Charlie Brown’s desire to find something a little less flashy, something that speaks to a simpler kind of life, something real—then it might just be worth a look. It’s is a fixer-upper in the purest sense, for sure…the interior has been completely stripped, and there isn’t a kitchen, bathroom, or appliance in sight. But the groundwork is there for a phenomenal small home, and that’s where we see the value. We love the quintessentially western gabled roof design, and we’re thinking that with new clapboard siding and double-hung windows, this place would be absolutely adorable. And let’s chat location: the Fairpark/Rose Park area has so much going for it. The street is quiet, downtown is an easy, five-minute bike ride away, and you can be on the freeway in two minutes. When was the last time you saw a house with this much potential priced in the five figures? Some will see this place and scoff, sure…but we see something special in the making. To slightly misquote Linus, we never thought it was such a bad little house. It’s not bad at all really. Maybe it just needs a little love.
