Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade
The SLC food scene has come a looong way in recent years, and a couple of our COLLECTIVE clients just happen to be leading the way (#proud). Two such stellar clients, Hasen Cone and Teri Rosquist, are the owners of what we’re counting our new favorite brunch spot. Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade, which opened a few months back on 1700 South, is officially doing breakfast and lunch, and brilliantly. Allow us to explain. The best seller is the rib-sticking Hoss–a breakfast brew that includes biscuit, fired chicken breast, egg, bacon, cheddar, sausage gravy, and green onions. So, there’s that. Full disclosure, though? We’re partial to the St. Francis. It’s an open-faced sourdough with asparagus, egg, parmesan, arugula, olive oil, and cracked pepper (plus bacon, if you know what you’re doing). Really, there’s no one “right” direction to take here. If salads or sandwiches are your gig, they’ve got those covered, too. If you’re coming for the mint, raspberry, or ginger limeade that you know Teri and Hasen have perfected (thanks to countless blazing-hot Saturdays at the Downtown Farmer’s Market), not to worry, gang…they’ll have all your favorites on tap.
Teri and Hasen are clutch members of the cityhomeCOLLECTIVE extended family: the slick, modern building that houses Sweet Lake is owned by none other than our own agent/developer Paul Svendsen, and it was Corigan that represented them in the negotiation of their lease. It is, by all accounts, a full-blown family affair…which happens to be our favorite kind. And since we’re all about dishing advice on the best that our city has to offer, prepare yourself now for a bit of solid advice: The next time you’re in the mood for “fresh” or “wholesome” or “seriously f-ing satisfying,” do what a dozen of us cityhomies did recently and pay Sweet Lake a visit. You’ll walk away full…but never disappointed.
