Stunning on Stauning

Neighborhood: Cottonwood Heights
Property Profile: 5,121 sq. ft. | 6 bed, 5 bath
Our Opinion: Every time we help a kindly, Cottonwood Heights soul sell their home, we are reminded of what a damn fine city it is, if for no other reason than it serves as the gateway to both of the Cottonwood Canyons. Beyond that, you’ve got such food purveyors as Whole Foods and [spankin’ new] Trader Joe’s, and there’s some solid dining and entertainment in the area, as well. Our friends, Roland and Shawn, bought when it was first built in 2003. They’ve loved it and shaped it but, as they see it, the time has come to move on [lucky you]. This home is over 5,100 square feet of wow, complete with several bedrooms, a laundry on the second floor, and a private office on the main. Hold on…we’re not finished. The bedrooms are spacious, and their closets cavernous–and most come with vaulted ceilings. We’re talking bells on whistles on bells here. Granite counters, stainless steel appliances, stain-grade trim throughout, central vacuum system, and genuine cedar garage doors. A few surprises for the next lucky owner, too: for starters, the basement has been smartly finished and includes a poolroom and wet bar. Down there, you’ll find a pair of bedrooms and the full bath stacked with a steamer shower. Outside, a multi-purpose court has been laid down. Oh, tennis, anyone? It’s a great diversion for those internet-addicted…well, anyone. Afterward, relax in the hot tub and soak the sore muscles [and bruised egos]. The property itself sits on a quiet cul-de-sac, which means very little vehicle traffic, and it offers views of both the Salt Lake Valley and the stalwart Lone Peak. Add to that the fact that the property abuts to several acres of grazing land, and you’re left with the sublime feeling that you’ve gone and moved out into the country.
