Our Opinion: This already-architecturally-interesting home was recently polished with a hundred and a half thousand dollar remodel. There’s plenty of obvious, modern perks to talk about [the kitchen being one, which was published in a national home magazine], including soaring ceilings, concrete and wood floors and massive, landscape-exposing windows everywhere. The less overt insights on the home are best heard from the mouths of the caretakers: “There is a beautiful view of Utah Lake and the mountains west of it. We don’t use the shades and we always wake up to the sun on the lake through the huge picture windows.” Even on a Utah winter day, “the sunroofs, windows, etc. are all planned to get so much natural light. We never use the lights in the house until the sun is down and when the lighting is low in the evening, combined with the valley lights below, it creates a very cool atmosphere.” That said, however, this space is about more than the natural light and stunning views — it’s also downright livable. Long gone is the debate over whether or not modern homes are kid/family friendly [thanks, Dwell]. “It’s bullet proof,” say current owners. “Easy to clean and maintain…it’s great for kids and spills and toys”. For those still questioning family-friendliness, there’s an outdoor gas fire pit with beautifully-simple landscaping [see below for that...and a touch of proof that it's not always winter in this town]. Oh, and an automated home security system controllable from phone, tablet or computer. Aaand a large 1/3-acre lot. Kudos for the kiddos. You found your spot.
