    Neighborhood: Emigration Canyon

Property Profile: 5,472 sq. ft. | 4 bed, 4 bath

Our Opinion: We love us some city livin’–the hustle and bustle, passing neighbors on your morning coffee commute, walking just about anywhere for tapas and a cocktail after work. The hum, the buzz, the sound of civilization–it’s undeniably in our blood. However, there’s something to be said for the sound of silence. For taking a deep breath (ahhhhhhhh…), surveying the mountains’ majesties, and admiring that unequivocal beauty that surrounds us–for taking to the hills for a break from the bustle. This contemporary beauty up Emigration Canyon affords those within a taste of both worlds. On one hand, it’s completely updated with every modern convenience one could want for (a fabulous outdoor dining area, updated kitchen, hot tub). On the other, it’s smack dab in the middle of them thar hills–we’re talking views on views on views. Uninterrupted outlooks from nearly every room in the house (the current owners can attest to marveling the mountains from the laundry room), and in nearly every direction (stunning in all seasons). All of this is to say that the home was designed–from day one–to live in perfect harmony with the nature by which it’s surrounded. One can walk out from all three levels of the house, and (aforementioned, updated) kitchen opens almost completely to the deck/fireplace/outdoor eating area. Entertaining here is a snap, to be sure, and it’s still just a hop down the hill to all the goodies of downtown. Trails right out the door–biking, running, sledding, all at your fingertips. Another (priceless) bonus: this spot sits squarely above SLC’s dirty little secret, The Inversion. This is sanctuary, minus the scruff that so frequently comes with it. This is well-kept solitude; the modern wild.
