By now, you should be well-acquainted with Cody Derrick’s obsession with all things mid-century modern. His chronicles as a long-time board member of Salt Lake Modern have been duly documented over the years [check here, here, here, and here for the latest editions]. We've also talked quite a bit about how his love for the stuff first came to light [like with this place…and that one]. Oh, and he's owned a few mid-mod beauties, as well [like Apollo, Eastwood, and this Ron Molen]. Frankly, we’re flattered to have our name aligned with the organization in even the slightest facet. They’ve done some amazing work, and we intend to continue to lend a COLLECTIVE hand to the effort in any way possible. SL Modern [a division of the Utah Heritage Foundation] aims to preserve the stellar architecture we’ve got right under our noses, and we're grateful to have a gang like this one fighting the good fight. Quite plainly, that's why we're members of it. Because we damn well should be.

If you’re looking for more information on just what it is that makes this group of crusading locals so fabulous in our COLLECTIVE hearts, you should pop down to our lounge at 7:00pm on Monday evening, the 6th--we'll be teamed up and firmly holding hands with SL Modern to gather for a few choice words from the organization's founding father [and our dear friend] Kirk Huffaker. This is how you get in on the praiseworthy work of preservation, folks...SL Modern is now accepting applications for qualified committee members. It's one of those rare times where opportunity comes a-calling, and it's doing so with a glass of wine in hand. Come by our South Temple HQ and get cozy on a couch. We can tune in to the wise words of Kirk for a brief presentation and Q&A, after which we can casually sing the praises of fine design.
