Its no secret anymore: Salt Lake City has quite the coffee and foodie scenes. Folks who are passionate about their crafts are flocking here and finding the means to make a living doing what they adore. Josh and Becky Rosenthal are hovering near the top of that list of talented folks, and if you don't already know this gourmet couple, allow us to remind you of just how much they're contributing to the tasty buzz of our lovely city. Josh is one of the co-founders of La Barba Coffee (previously Charming Beard), whose beans and brews have quickly won over the hearts of SLC citizens and out-of-towners, alike. What started as a few bags of beans sold here and there has become something far bigger and better, and La Barba now has one of the most beautiful coffee shops in the city, located inside FINCA, and perfectly curated to match its enveloping space (wink, wink). Josh and Becky are also the two minds behind theslcfoodie.com, a stellar site about the Salt Lake food scene that includes well-written reviews, restaurant write-ups, and info on food-related events happening around the city. Oh, and were not done. There's thevintagemixer.com, too. This is Becky's brainchild that speaks to a tried-n-true era of cooking, wherein whole, fresh foods and eating seasonally are the order of the day. It's a goldmine of amazing recipes and drool-inducing food photography.

The old charm and character of the home fit perfectly with the essence of this fantastic little family.

The couple lives in a cute turn-of-the-century bungalow near Liberty Park with their (OMG, adorable) son Everette, and dog Henry. The old charm and character of the home fit perfectly with the essence of this fantastic little family. The nooks, wood moldings, cool vintage lighting, and (naturally) the beautiful kitchen where we imagine countless exquisite meals are made. We joined for a cup of (the best) coffee, and Becky whipped up an original recipe for us--Blood Orange Glazed Cardamom Sweet Rolls (using a whole grain nut and seed sourdough, no less). Stare at the photos below hard enough, and you may get a whiff of the cardamom and magic (or you can head to her website for the recipe). As with all growing families, they'll soon be on their way to a new space, and you ought to be on the lookout for this one. The kitchen's been put to the test…maybe there's a little magic left in it for you.
