This hidden-in-plain-sight ‘hood is more of a Cinderella Story than a sports analogy. A former wasteland of abandoned warehouses and silos, the Granary District has picked herself up by the bootstraps for the reinvention of a lifetime. Rather than shying away from its industrial roots, this cute little corner of the city embraces them for an environment that’s two-parts urban, two-parts artsy, and all about community. This resurgence is due in no small part to the Granary Row project: a pop-up market/community space created from old freight shipping containers. Home to artists, entrepreneurs, and trailblazing families, this Cinderella’s not goin’ squashy anytime soon.
