Vive Juicery | For Your Health!

If you have yet to mosey over to Sugar House for a little bottle of minimally-branded heaven from Vive Juicery, you are missing out, dear friend. Vive is one fast-growing bundle of joy, and she sprung up from the likes of some Kickstarter magic, thanks to equal parts brain and beauty known as Bryce and Brittany Thaxton. They're COLLECTIVE pals, locally born and bred, and they happen to be hitched to one another.

it's packed with up to five times the nutrients and true flavor.

Vive started off with Bryce and Brittany’s forward-thinking search to instill some healthy/alternative/holistic habits in their own lives. And what started as a personal goal spiraled into what we love enough to write about. It's a gorgeous little storefront serving up cold-pressed juices made daily from the best locally-grown produce around. Get this: these two cats wake up at 2 o'clock in the a.m. [now think 4am dance parties to stay awake] to bring you the freshest juice possible. Each little glass bottle [f*ck you, plastic] packs a healthy punch with over 3 pounds of local and organic fresh produce. Translation: you're getting your money's worth in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, micronutrients, and tasty, tasty deliciousness. How's that differ from your run-of-the-mill home front juicing? The win is two-fold: 1) you ain't got time for all that washin' and choppin' and preppin' and cleanin' and such, and 2) this juice is born from a hydraulic press [keep reading...we've got the scope on precisely why that's a good thing]. Unlike your traditional, centrifugal juicer, a cold-press hydraulic minimizes oxidation by using pressure--not heat--to extract the juice. And that means it's packed with up to five times the nutrients and true flavor.

For those so inclined, a full body reset is a damn good thing.

Healthier and tastier. They also do more than just fresh juices on the daily. In fact, their cleanse programs are currently saving our bacon. For those so inclined, a full body reset is a damn good thing. You can give your body a serious break from sugars, carbs, alcohol or any of your other bad habits that have been stacking. Vive will chat with you about which of their four cleanse options is for you [beginner, familiar, experienced, or build-ya-own]...then two days later, you'll get a fresh delivery of clean-up.

it's a space that inspires health

Vive offers general juice delivery, as well, from the Marmalade District all the way down to Draper, but for our part, we're thrilled that they have a storefront, and we'll be enjoying that as much as possible. It's an adorable and well-designed space at roughly 15th South and 11th East. Decked out in over 70% recycled or upcycled materials, Bryce and Brittany nailed it on the inviting/bright/open/healthy vibe. The counter top, the window bar, the pallets-turned-planters west wall [all made by Bryce], and baskets of fruit...it's a space that inspires health. You can also catch them at the Downtown Farmer’s Market or the Wheeler Farms Farmers Market. Whatever way you get the juice, just get it. The Jicamama, the Local Love, the Beet Goes On, the Daydream...it difficult to pick a fave here. Don't bother. Love them all.

Live here long enough, and you’ll see all manner of businesses making a go of things along our perpendicular and numerically-organized streets. Take the corner of 900 S and 500 E, where an 84-year-old building had housed such ventures as a gas station and a roller skate and bicycle rental company...

Back in the day, the Gin + Tonic was a beverage mixed in the tropics by British military officers to make anti-malarial quinine’s bitter properties a bit more palatable (and its imbibers predictably more shit-faced in the process). Quinine’s also a mild muscle relaxant, upping the chill factor...

Coffee shop design has taken a clean, bright turn over the last few years. Makes us want to spend our days chatting and sipping for hours on end. Rather than small, dark spaces with a few mismatched couches, we're looking squarely at joints like this: 3 Cups in Holladay...
