Since 1972, the Citizens’ Committee to Save Our Canyons has been fighting the good fight for the conservation of flora, fauna, and clean water, and for the preservation of designated wilderness areas—and those little green ’n’ white bumper stickers have gone a long way in spreading the word for this grassroots organization.
Since its founding, Save Our Canyons has been “instrumental in local policy…and fostering a community of locals and visitors alike that value the Wasatch Mountains, canyons, and foothills.” So in order to acknowledge those community members that make forward movement possible, SOC is hosting their 16th Annual Lone Peak Celebration (and, if there be an opportunity to further educate attendees on the importance of the cause, all the better).
Saturday, March 10th, join SOC for dinner (courtesy of Mazza), tunes, beer (by Red Rock Brewery) and cocktails (by Beehive Distilling), as well as a swell silent auction (with items up for grabs from Prana, Patagonia, Xmission, Porcupine Grill, Sundance Mountain Resort, Cotopaxi, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, The Front Climbing Club, and oh-so-many more) and a short presentation on the work still to be done for the incredible Utah wild.
Get down for a good cause, then get up to them hills. Win/win.
