This weekend, folks! Pride weekend is finally upon us, and while we're always excited to attend/participate, we're COLLECTIVELY jazzed about a some additional things this time around: 1) Our own involvement in the parade, and 2) A couple of COLLECTIVELY-endorsed DJs' involvement in some dancey Saturday/Sunday fun at the festival. Join us in our excitement, won't you?

Chronologically and officially speaking, Pride Fest as a whole will run from Thursday evening's interfaith service through Sunday's day-long festival at Washington/Library Square (ending at 7:00pm). You're all welcome--naturally--to make yourselves a part of as many bits and pieces of the weekend as you'd like. It's all "come as you are" during Pride…brotherly/sisterly love abound and support in spades for everyone. There are marches, rallies, ceremonies, kick-offs, and dance parties; a couple in particular that will have us shaking our COLLECTIVE asses in unison. On Saturday evening, our goodly pal (and client), Corey Bullough, will be spinning the 1s, 2s, oh's, and ooo's on the Dance Stage at 7:00pm. We suggest you get to twerk on that. And on Sunday the good-time having will commence promptly at 10:00am with the Pride Parade…and we'll be walking in it! We gave you fair warning, and invited you to RSVP*--cityhomeCOLLECTIVE will be sashaying down 2nd South in a show of love for every damn bird and bloke we see. Aforementioned sashaying will be punctuated by a few, standard party-time accoutrements: think gold balloons, matching shirts with gay-related quips, sassy lovers of all things queer, and a few Teslas (duh). We feel as though we have our bases squarely covered.

With Pride, it's tough to tell where the day will take you, but we've got it on good authority that at least one other fantastic DJ will be making the LGBT community shake: Mr. Jesse Walker will spin the dance stage dizzy at 3:00pm on Sunday, and we see this as a legitimate opportunity to get day-drunk and channel Carlton Banks. We haven't even touched on the numerous other solid acts that will be at the festival, but you can check out the three-day schedule here. There are myriad reasons to attend…consider this a friendly, COLLECTIVE nudge.
