As a business, our COLLECTIVE growth is unequivocally important. It means that you (the fine folk of these briny boulevards) will continue to get the skinny on all the drool-inducing design and breathtaking bites that this lovely city has to offer. More importantly, however, it allows us to stay the course and focus on our core goal--to do our damnedest to enure that everyone who walks through our door finds a space that they deem to be truly, madly, and deeply home. So, as this quarter rolls to a close, here’s to celebrating growth...but not in the traditional sense. For most, it might consist of statistics, percentages, and all manner of empiricism. But we’re here to offer an alternative measure. The anecdote.

For as much as total volume sold matters, it will always be trumped by the story of finding one's space.

Our Find Your Space ad campaign embodies this exact sentiment. Oh-so-much more than four walls and a roof, it’s a tale that those acquainted with this website know all to well. The story of helping place these two in a killer modern number in Rose Park, or of helping design the perfect space for this family, or (most recently) of finding a home for downtown’s tastiest new restaurant. This time around (the 15th, to be clear), we’ve added an adorable family of three to the roster.

Long time cityhomeCOLLECTIVE clients, we know Anson and Alex to be a wildly creative duo (think: Camp4 Collective and Struck) who have--both as a team and independently--churned out jaw-dropping, top-notch content of all kinds (and if the works that 8-year-old daugher, Lowe, was turning out at the bar are any indicator, she's likely to follow suit). Our paths crossed with Alex and Anson years ago, and as it goes with the clients we love, we've since sold a couple of condos for the pair, as well as a Marmalade home. Logically, the next step was to help them find the home they desired in the neighborhood of their dreams.

As it so happens, that's kind of the thing we do best.

Perched above the Capitol and overlooking the city and our great Salt Lake, the space (which came to our COLLECTIVE courtesy of this stellar agent) reflects the wealth of ingenuity and keen eye for aesthetics possessed by this fantastic family. When we originally helped them find it, there was work to be done, for certain. But, the potential was there, and Anson and Alex seized the opportunity to mold the home in their image, to create a space that was perfectly them, from fixtures to fit. Most of the upstairs has been remodeled (with more planned), and the result is absolutely delectable. Clean lines, handsome hardwood floors, and a stunner of a new kitchen, are set off by a concrete (indoor/outdoor) fireplace and a wall of south- and west-facing windows from which any ol' SLC sunset can be viewed. It's a paradise, of sorts.

As ever, our intention with this shoot was simply to reflect/capture the lives inside the space. The end of the work/school day...the time during which everyone can slip off their shoes, decompress, and connect with those they hold near and dear. It's a process made infinitely sweeter by a space tailor made to the family/people inside.

Scroll down to see the stellar result of our talented cameraman (George Oakley)...or grab a copy of Utah Style & Design for the full spread. And keep your eyes out for another Pat Fenelon video, coming your way soon. With a family at ease, the shoot was a breeze. And further testament to that which we believe so steadfastly: when you take the time to find or create a space that is unequivocally yours, you'll thrive within its walls.
