EatDrinkSLC | Repeat After Me

7/5/2018 |
EatDrinkSLC

Date: Thursday, July 12
Time: 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Location: Tracy Aviary, Liberty Park

Perhaps it’s indicative of our salty city’s coming of age as a culinary hot spot, but it seems like every year we’re delighted to have the delicious decision between several popular food and beverage fests vying for our attention. A community favorite that just screams summatime vibes is EatDrinkSLC, started four years ago as colorful collaboration between venue host Tracy Aviary, the fine wine brokerage folks at Vine Lore, and cutting-edge groove-masters SB Dance.

EatDrinkSLC is a 21+ showcase that caps the capacity at approximately ten guests per one vendor. Food and drink stops are placed amongst the meandering garden and stately trees of the aviary keeping the scene cool on multiple levels, and there are plenty of opportunities to interact with local distillers, restaurateurs and chefs at the event.

This year's list of food and drink sponsors should be pretty familiar to our followers...

Takashi, Manoli’s, Provisions, Copper Common, Pallet, Eva’s, Beehive Cheese, Zest, Amour Café, Normal Ice Cream (hell yes) and dozens more will be on hand to palate-please. With live music, a couple dozen wineries represented, and local breweries and distilleries slinging suds and cocktails all over the damn place, there’s no shortage of sass to fill your glass. Even better? It’s for a primo cause: surplus revenue supports SB Dance, the Tracy Aviary, and a deserving community non-profit. This year’s partner is Neighborhood House, an organization empowering underserved youth on SLC’s west side. Says Vine Lore’s Tracey Thompson, Eat Drink SLC honors “the entire industry’s food chain including customers, business owners, managers, servers, culinary professionals, purveyors and agricultural workers.” Cheers to that!

Get your tickets ASAP; this event sells out in advance every year!

There’s something about this time of year that asks us to begin again. Not loudly, not all at once, but in the quiet ways. A window cracked open after months of stale air. A shedding of the winter coats. The subtle, almost imperceptible shift toward something lighter. Something new...
