Date: July 20th - 22nd
Location: Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W 300 S
A weekend all about flicks and philanthropy, Damn These Heels is the mountain west’s longest running LGTBQ film festival, and, as their now 15-year long tenure suggests, support for the issues this event so adeptly highlights is stronger than ever. And that’s just as it should be, we might add, considering that this yearly fest is all about celebrating a marginalized community’s diversity “by sharing LGBTQ history, culture, ideas, struggles, and triumphs through film”.
As always, the lineup is lookin’ to be both queer and quality. In addition to screenings, DTH has added all manner of parties and programs to round out the weekend. Part festive, part provocative, the weekend is all about supporting LGTBQ artists, promoting equality, and encouraging discussion about the ever-important and perception-challenging role of film and media.
