COLLECTIVE Clergy | Paris

Way we figure, why stop now? Since we’re officially back on track with our COLLECTIVE Clergy intros (oh, did you not meet Katie last week? Must read…), we’re just going to keep things chugging along. After all, did you know we have a gang of, like, 30+ here at CHC now? We’re just making certain that there’s not a stranger in the group. That you’ve collected all the cards and shaken all the hands…even if just virtually. Today’s Clergy member is none other than one of our whipper-snapper agents, Paris Thomas.

Paris is a hoot. But if I’m being frank, it’s not intentional…she’s just naturally goofy and it’s hilarious. She once proudly blurted out (in the midst of a team meeting), “Hey, you guys, I can do three pull-ups now, whaaaat?” I know that she loves working out, talking about working out, and wearing cute workout clothes…so she clearly possesses a level of discipline that I do not. Her dog, Lola, is a well-to-do standard poodle who is stunning to look upon, but I assume would judge me quite harshly if we were ever to meet. Paris has been with us for just under two years, but she came on board with years and years of experience, and her prowess shows itself in the form of a friendly warmth with clients and a keen knowledge of the tenets associated with her field. Her facial expressions are everything. She loves Drake. And if you should find yourself sitting in our COLLECTIVE living room some day, you’d be well advised to say “hello”…

Describe your perfect home or space. What does it look/feel like? Two words…natural light! I love bright, open spaces. I literally move through the house strategically searching for sunlight. What does it feel like? Feels homey and broken in with chic accents and splashes of color to complement earthy pieces of furniture and good old hardwood floors. Also, lots of places for my people #EntertainersDelight. And I basically live outside in the summer, so same goes for an outdoor space to chill and soak up vitamin D. Oh, and I have totally found my dream home and I’m writing an offer this week! Cross all fingers for me!

One thing you absolutely cannot stand: When people waste their potential. Get up, get moving! Chase that dream, buy that car, go on that trip, marry that person. Living small helps no one! You also never know who is looking up to you…

One thing you absolutely, unequivocally LOVE: My dog, Lola! She has changed my life so much and she’s teaching me unconditional love (I wouldn’t pull a baby wipe, or three, out of anyone else’s…um…you know). I also love working out, and the gym is my happy place. I love everything about it.

You’re a real-estate agent. Tell me why. What led you to this work? The thing I love about this industry is that anyone can be someone. I love that just about everyone making a significant amount of money has investments in real estate as well. What has kept me in it is the love for helping others reach their goals. Huge plug for cityhomeCOLLECTIVE to this end because, as a company, we also help communities reach their goals…ultimately it’s better for all of us (including home owners). Full circ!

Give me your take on our little COLLECTIVE. Ha! See above for more. CHC is magical. It’s whole. That’s the word that came to me. We have some heart, some sass, some 80s punk, some jaw-dropping luxury. We have it all. We help people find whatever “that” is for them. It’s the most powerful thing in the world.

Describe your perfect day. What, exactly, does that look like for you? Well, first I catch up on my beauty sleep (I looove sleeping in). Then I take Lola for a stroll on a warm, sunny day. I don’t see any neighbors because I woke up like this (haha). We enjoy some coffee and cuddles. Then I go to the office and work with my CHC fam. I do a little social media marketing, help some new clients find/sell homes, all followed by a gym sesh. After, I enjoy a yummy dinner with my Whole30 girls…we cook together and chat about life. In the evening, I go salsa dancing with my dream guy (still looking!).

Favorite read/watch: The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard. I love How to Get Away With Murder and The Mindy Project. Movie-wise, I love Silver Linings Playbook.

I’m an adult who is legitimately scared of the dark. It’s crazy to me that more people aren’t. Any weird fears or phobias for you? Haha. No, I don’t really have phobias. I do have above-board hygiene, like washing my hands in an intelligent manner and frequently (sing the alphabet, people!)

You could be living anywhere, really. Why SLC? I was born and raised here and I love that I’m surrounded by my family (including my 7 month old niece). I live for SLC summers. Farmers markets, outdoor concerts, minutes to beautiful canyons, OUTDOOR PATIOS! Nice folks. And everyday my company helps me feel like a visitor. cityhomeCOLLECTIVE reminds me to constantly be on the lookout for new, exciting additions to this lovely city, so I’m constantly renewing my love for her.

How do you think we can improve this fantastic little slice of our nation? Where are we lacking? As we grow I think we need as many movers and shakers involved as possible, so our growth is full of integrity. So we are more locally-owned, rich in culture, and just authentic.
