Our Opinion: By now, we hope you know that condominiums in cool, old-timey, historic buildings are totally our thing. Take the Sampson Altadena at 3rd & 3rd, or the Ivanhoe just up the street, or the Maryland on South Temple, or the Westgate Lofts on 200 S…we love 'em all, and they've graced our website innumerable times. But combine a lovely 1901 brick-and-sandstone building with luxurious living spaces and the magic of the Avenues (one of SLC’s most sought-after neighborhoods) and we’re absolutely over the moon. That’s the Drayton. When this project hit the market in 2013, we did some COLLECTIVE drooling. The location on 1st Avenue between S and T can’t be beat—walking distance to the U of U, super-quick commute to downtown, mighty close to coffee and good food, and perfectly peaceful day and night. The building’s historic charm remains completely intact, but with only six units and very little turnover, opportunities to call the Drayton home have been hard to come by.
