This crown jewel of Salt Lake City sits on her throne at the top of State Street and overlooks the entire metropolitan area. The State Capitol, constructed between 1912 and 1916, is the twinkle in our stately eye, and stitches together the Avenues, Marmalade, Ensign Downs and Downtown [not to mention she’s just plain ‘ol pretty]. The Hill is riddled with single-family homes, as well as apartments, and it’s just a short jaunt to hikers’ delight, Memory Grove. Draws include The Pioneer Memorial Museum [oooh and ahhh], and first dibs at the bevy of events the Capitol puts on yearly, including “Movie Under the Stars”. Straight-up majestic.
