Fruit + Salsa = Magic
Karamea Puriri and the folks at Craft Lake City have, not so surprisingly, nailed it once again. Another successful DIY workshop went off within the walls of West Elm at City Creek, where we got to use the retail space as our personal kitchen. Each month -- thanks to the ideas and execution of some creative and incredible SLC people -- a new Craft Lake City comrade is featured from the festival, thereby offering us wanna-be-crafty souls the opportunity to learn a new skill at the hands of a clever pro. Making fruit salsa is obviously a skill everyone should have, so Liz of Butcher’s Bunches got all proverbial and taught us how to fish. Loads of chopping, mixing, and good-timing ended in a life-long ability to whip peaches, onions, and peppers [among other things] into a bowl full of this'll-please-your-guests. Obviously, upcoming workshops will offer different, but equally savvy and necessary skills. Go forth and learn...and don't forget about the official festival [info below].
