It has nearly arrived, folks--the event we look forward to all year long. It's bigger than Shark Week. It's bigger than the Puppy Bowl. It's bigger than Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue. It's the 4th Annual cityhomeCOLLECTIVE Brew + 'Q! We hire a DJ, we find some amazing local businesses (see below) to provide good grub and grog, and then we invite the whole damn town. We love this salty city so much we can't keep it to ourselves, and since this is the closest we can get to a massive group hug, it'll have to do. Last year's 'Q was our biggest and best yet, and we're hoping to do more of the same next Friday.
Yes, next Friday, September 30th, head on over to our parking lot for some merrymaking and celebratory hugs in the name of each and every one of you (after all, it's you who allows us to do what we do, so we just wanna say 'thanks'). So let's get down to it. We'll be serving up cold ones from our pals at Uinta Brewery (these guys ain't never let us down, and you're about to reap aaalllll the benefits). Should brewskis not be your bag, we'll also be slangin' something sweet and bubbly from Mountain West Hard Cider (officially Salt Lake City’s first urban cidery, therefore presumably the authority on the stuff). And, back by popular demand, our buds at Saturday's Waffle will be dolling out goody-topped waffles by the dozen (and you'd do well to get in line for that sooner than later). Oh, and our pals at Beer Bar will be back for the second time, grillin' and chillin' and giving us those brats we all love to love. We'll also have a few new kids on the block at this year's fete: 15th & 15th's brand new eatery Trestle Tavern will be on hand with some of their crazy-good soft pretzels (trust us: you'll be wondering how many is socially acceptable to eat before the night is through), and PJK's Creamery will be serving up scoops of their cold, artisanal perfection (tangerine with toasted marshmallow and vanilla meringues, roasted strawberry with a honey balsamic swirl are but a couple of their fabulous flavors--meet your new favorite ice cream shop). The good folks at Black's Sliders will be on hand, serving up farm-to-truck perfection in the form of pulled-pork and beef sliders, and we're salivating already at the thought of it. Once you're good and full, we suggest you mosey over to the dance floor, where DJ Concise Kilgore will help you work off them extra calories in the best way.
We cherish this event so dearly for one simple reason. It allows us to celebrate all of our favorite things with a love so rapturous it's perhaps safest for everyone that it's reserved for once a year. Let us eat, drink, and P-A-R-T why? Because we love you.
