Were a place to have a positive aura made manifest, Amour Café’s envelope of good vibes could be seen from space. We're thrilled to have this snug, lively spot on our go-to list for comestibles and contentment in Liberty Park’s charming ‘hood.

Orchestrating all of this ambrosial awesomeness? High priestess of pastry and our favorite source of cloud-scattering smiles, Amber Billingsly; y’all remember her ethereal beignets from our 2015 Brew + 'Q? We can’t get ‘em out of our dreams. Winner of two SLC “Best Pastry Chef” awards, a slew of accolades, and legendary in our salty city for her freaking genius with all things gelato, Amber consistently creates magical moments out of the simplest and absolute-freshest ingredients on the daily at Amour Café. And developing the entire food program at the café since before it premiered last June has been her latest labor of love.

The cosmic equivalent of a big hug.

Open seven-to-seven every damn day, linger over a full eggs-hearty breakfast, satisfying sammies (get the grilled Beehive cheese with Amour tomato jam, fer reals) or a perfect pastry on the run with a steaming cup o’ joe.

Vegan? Gluten free? She’s got you.

Did we mention the sorbetto and gelato selection? Le sigh. Picking up a jar of Amour’s perfect preserves and a pint of Amber’s gelato has become our new favorite hostess gift for just about any occasion. Guess who's sure to be the favorite kid at Thanksgiving this year (yeah, you). ‘Cause you rolled in with that Amano Chocolate Gelato and some Elderberry-Orange Marmalade.

As envisioned by owners John and Casee Francis, the café is an extension of their passion for all things local, homegrown and indubitably delicious. Long-time farmer’s market favorites, they’re the creators of award-winning Amour Spreads, jams and preserves made with only fruit, organic sugar and just a bit of citrus; stirred up by actual human beings the old fashioned way in gorgeous French copper jam pots which you can see in progress at the restaurant’s open kitchen. John lived in Provence for a while, and that easy-breezy, comfortably-elegant feel of the French countryside comes through in Rachel Hodson’s (yup, we’re fans yet again, Rachel) design of the space. Equally gorgeous and inviting on a snowy day or sunny afternoon on the patio, we’re in head-over-heels in love with all things Amour.
