There are certain staples of spring whose absence would throw all of those warm weather vibes straight out the window: sunshiney patios, the budding of the trees on South Temple, and one of our favorite fair-weather events, Mr. Jesse Walker’s Bunny Hop. That’s right. Now in its seventh year, this COLLECTIVELY adored event is gearing up to be another deluge of day-drinking debauchery, and we're eagerly packing our Easter baskets in anticipation.
This year's Bunny Hop will be held, as always, at The Garage on Beck Street. Just like years passed, you can expect tremendously-talented local DJs, a contest for best bonnet and hat (so BYO Sunday best), and an Easter egg hunt, to boot (really, if a crowd of inebriated adults competitively hunting for plastic eggs doesn't scream "Spring," we're at a loss for what does). There will also be raffles and giveaways throughout the day, and a nostalgic appearance by the Bunny himself.
As per usual, a tenner will gain you access to all this eggy goodness, and for another $10, you can pile a plate high with delicious delicacies from a brunch buffet (and, since this party will be hoppin' from 11am until sunset, we highly recommend you take advantage of the sustenance). Folks, this really is the Easter Sunday you always wanted--a cool drink in hand, the warm rays of early Spring on your face, and you and your fellow Salt Lakers cutting the rug to fabulous tunes. Proceeds from the day will go towards the support of the Planned Parenthood Action Council of Utah. Altruism, alcohol in the a.m., and a daytime dance party sound too good to be true? Chalk it up to Easter magic.
