Our Opinion: If you lean toward “off the grid-ish” sustainable, small-house living, this might be your perfect casa, friends. We’ll start out back, where the fruit and veggie growth can easily accommodate your own small army. Really. Seven fruit trees, a large raspberry patch, and enough raised bed space for all of your favorites (think: tomatoes for your homemade lasagna, peppers for your fresh salsa, squash for your…squash enjoyment). Invite your family/friends/neighbors and have yourselves a feast, courtesy your own hard growing work. Post harvest, make your way back inside, because the kitchen here is where things really start to get good. Beautifully updated and set to spoil even the pickiest of chefs, it’s clad with subway tile, plenty of cupboard storage, some open shelving, and a sizable island for chopping or chatting. The current owners took out the wall between the kitchen and living space (with permits, mind you) to open things up, and in doing so, they engineered the delineating beam to support the weight of solar panels, should you decide to harness some energy and save on your electricity bills. Ultimately, this home is just the right size to enable you to manage your foot-print, green things up, and start your very own farm-to-table nights. We’d say this one’s “on trend,” but that suggests that all these fantastic perks have a shelf life. Let us assure you…they don’t.
